About Us
The Mackay Art Society is a non-for-profit organisation with a focus on providing a place for the people in the Mackay Region to practice and exhibit Fine Art.
ABOUT US
Mackay Art Society
The Mackay Art Society was formed in 1964 with an approximate membership of 25 artists.
The Society became incorporated in 1991 and has since grown to a membership of approx. 120 and is still growing.
In 1996 we opened our own Visual Art Centre. The Art centre is the hub of our activities, which includes meetings, workshops and exhibitions.
The Objectives of the Mackay Art Society are:
To promote, foster and practise the fine art of painting and kindred arts at such times as the Association is able to do so.
- To promote public awareness, knowledge and appreciation of art
- To provide opportunities for the practice and presentation of art
- To pursue a standard of excellence in respect of all objects and activities of the Association
Meetings
The Mackay Art Society members meet every Tuesday from 9am to 2.30pm, and Wednesday from 9am to 2.30pm and 5pm to 8pm.
U3A meet on Thurdsay mornings from 9am to 12 noon, Mackay Art Society members are also welcome to attend.
Held at the Visual Art Centre, 2 Snow Wright Court, Beaconsfield.
